Christopher Nolan was born on July 30, 1970. He is a British film director, producer, and screenwriter.
Nolan has directed several films, such as "Memento", "The Dark Knight Rises", and "The Prestige".
He is known to be one of the most inventive image makers and storytellers in his movies.
He has directed eight features which are from low budget to large budget films. All of his films accumulate to over $3.5 billion worldwide.
Nolan directed his first film "Following" in 1998 which was based on his personal experience of living in London.
He has established three Academy Award nominations; two of them are for Best Original Screenplay.
While on break from filming "The Dark Knight Rises", Nolan received a "Certificate of Appreciation" from Pittsburg.
He was the youngest director to be presented with a hand-and-footprint ceremony which was held at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles in July of 2012.
In 2006, the follow up to "Batman Begins" would be called "The Dark Knight".
The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography and several BAFTA awards.
On September 5, 2000, "Memento" first performance was held at the Venice International Film Festival.
In 2014, Nolan and Thomas are the executive producers on "Transcendence". Jack Paglen is the writer on the screenplay.
"Transcendence" is expected to be in theatres on April 18, 2014.
In 2013, he is expected to write, produce, and direct the film "Interstellar", which was actually suppose to be directed by Steven Spielberg.
Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures have teamed up to co-distribute and co-financing the film. "Interstellar" is scheduled to be out on November 7, 2014.
Nolan is also expected to release "The Keys to the Street" at the beginning of 2014 which was arranged at Fox Searchlight Pictures.
