Steven Spielberg is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Spielberg has been in the film industry for over 40 years, which some of his films covered humanistic issues, for example, "The Holocaust". According, to Empire magazine Nolan is one of the most powerful filmmakers of all time and has influenced other directors in the film industry. Spielberg has won the Academy Award for Best Director for "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan". Nine of his films were up for Best Picture Oscar which "Schindler's List" won. Spielberg received the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for his creativity as a producer in 1987. 

He directed the historical film "Lincoln", which was based on Lincoln's last four months of his life. The film was written by Tony Kushner and was shot in Richmond, Virginia in 2011. "Lincoln" was out in theaters in November of 2012 by Disney's Touchstone Pictures. "Lincoln" was later nominated for twelve Academy Awards which comprise of Best Director and Best Picture for the director Spielberg. "Lincoln" was the only film that year to be nominated for that many times.

Spielberg was the director for "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" in 1982 and the "Hook" in 1991. He later returned with the film version of Michael Crichton's novel "Jurassic Park" in 1993. In 1997, Spielberg performed as the executive producer for the film "Men in Black" and its sequels, which were "Men in Black ll", and "Men in Black lll". He was also the co-executive producer on the film called "Monster House" and co-producer on "Flags of Our Father and "Letters from Iwo Jima". Spielberg collaborated with the director Michael Bay on "Transformers" by executing as the executive producer and on the sequel, which are "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon".
