Tom Hanks is better known as Thomas Jeffrey and is a producer, writer, actor, and director. Hanks have starred in many movies, such as the following; "Forrest Gump", "A League of Their Own", "Sleepless in Seattle", "Saving Private Ryan", "Apollo 13", "Captain Phillips", "You've Got Mail", "Cast Away", "The Da Vinci Code", and "The Green Mile". Hanks has been nominated for many awards, such as Gloden Globe, Academy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Award, Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award, and People's Choice Award. He is known in the film industry with his collaboration with Steven Spielberg on "Saving Private Ryan", "The Terminal", "Catch Me If You Can", and "Band of Brothers".

Hanks attended the Chabot College in Hayward, California, then later transferred to California State University in Sacramento. Hanks moved to New York City in 1979, where he later created a low-budget film "He Knows You're Alone" in 1980. Hanks were cast in the role of Callimaco in the Riverside Shakespeare Company's, which was directed by Daniel Southern. In 1996, Hanks directed "That Thing You Do" while having a role as a music producer. He also co-wrote, co-directed "From the Earth to the Moon". In 1999 and 2010, Hanks played a role as the voice of Woody in "Toy Story 2" and "Toy Story 3".

Hanks facilitated directing and producing of the "Band of Brothers" and collaborate with his wife to produce the hit movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". In 2004, Hanks appeared in the following films, "The Terminal", "The Polar Express", and "Coen brothers' The Ladykillers". He appeared in "The Simpsons Movie" and produced the British film "Starter for Ten". Hank has co-produced and co-wrote "Magnificent Desolation:Walking on the Moon 3D, which was an IMAX film about moon landings. In 2005, Hanks was chosen as the vice president of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
